We knew Rarebird Farm Bonnie Bluebell was a keeper the day she was born. We could quickly tell she exceled in dairy strength and length with beautiful rear leg angulation, a square set of feet and legs, long feminine neck and a straight topline! Very typical of our 5*M Rarebird Farm Diamond kids. Bonnie was made to be a show goat, acting like a total diva in the show ring. As a 5 month old, Bonnie went RCH Jr. Nigerian Dwarf only to finish the job a couple weeks later winning GCH Jr. Nigerian Dwarf in a very competitive class of Jr. does! In April of 2022, Bonnie freshened with an awesome FF udder, with beautiful balance, teat placement, capacity and more. At 6 weeks fresh, Bonnie earned her first Sr. Leg at the Bay To Beach ADGA Show. At our appraisal session in August of 2022, at almost 4 months fresh, Bonnie appraised VVVV 86 with an E in both front and rear legs, and a V in shoulder assembly, back and rump! In 2023, Bonnie improved on her LA score appraising VEEV 87! Bonnie did great on milk test in 2023 and is currently on an extended lactation going into 2024. We hope to breed her again for kids in 2025.

2021 Maryland Dairy Goat Association Show - There were roughly 30-40 Jr. Nigerian Dwarf kids present between all the classes.

Summer Sizzler Show - There were about 32 Jr. Nigerian Dwarf kids between all the classes. Bonnie recieved so many nice comments and remarks from the judge. The general consensus from our fellow exhibitors/goat friends was that she doesn't really need a handler, she just walks around like a princess all by herself!

Milk Test/DHIA Records

First Lactation: In her first lactation, drying off at 253 DIM, Bonnie produced 440lbs of Milk, 25lbs of Butterfat & 18lbs of Protein. Bonnie started off great in her lactation but due to attending so many shows, we feel that threw her off. Bonnie has earned her 6*M in butterfat and protein this lactation.

Second Lactation:

305 Day Results: 854 lbs Milk, 54 lbs Butterfat, 40 lbs Protein

Bonnie is still in milk on an extended lactation, and currently at 312 DIM she has produced 868 lbs Milk, 56 lbs Butterfat and 41 lbs protein. Bonnie milked 5.8lbs on her first test! Bonnie has now met her star requirements (6*M) for butterfat, protein and production for this lactation!

Linear Appraisal History

2022, Yearling FF (01-06 VVVV 86) (4 months fresh)

We were so thrilled with how Bonnie did at her first appraisal, despite the fact that her udder was not totally filled, and it was our very first time having our herd evaluated! Bonnie scored an E in front and rear legs, with V's in shoulder assembly, back and rump!

2023, 2F (02-06 VEEV 87) (Five months fresh)

E in rear legs with V's in head, front legs, feet and back, with an impressive 39 in rear udder height, and 35 in rear udder arch!
